Diary of a Wimpy Kid

I have started to read the book "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney. I started to read the book only because I needed something. What happens it that there is a kid named, Gregg Heffley and It was a new school year for him. He wants to be a "cool" kid that year, so he tries anything. He also has a friend named Rowley, But the problem with that is that he is a regular kid. He doesn't desire fame like Gregg. Also gregg just completely embarrasses himself on the first day by fighting with a girl. That is all I read about so far.

Gregg is a very determined person. I know this because in the book he says "I will do anything to get myself to the top." He also tries signing up for activities so that he could get more fame. He also tries to do the most obnoxious things just to get attention. That is why Gregg Heffley is a determined person.

The Walking Dead

I have started reading the book "The Walking Dead, Rise of the Governor" by Robert Kirkman. So far what I read was that A group of people with kids and adults were surviving a zombie apocalypse and a evil villain "Governor" was the one who started the spread  of the disease. They travel around the city trying to stay alive. That is all I read about so far.

Penny is a girl that had survived with her dad. She is a very brave girl because she wants to help with lots. She always insists if doing something. For example in the book it says "Please can I come with you?" What happened was that her dad was going to go check on something and Penny wanted to come with. That is what makes her brave. Also I am not going to keep reading this because I never really liked the type of genre that it is.

Where Things Come Back

I read a book called "Where Things Come Back" by John Corey. The book starts off by a teenager named Cullen and he says how he has never seen a dead body. Afterwards a few days later he sees a old woman's dead body. he found his cousin dead, but how he died was that he strangled and beaten to death. His whole family were depressed after they found out about it. That is all I really read so far.
Cullen is a person who doesn't forgive too quick. I know this because in the book it says that he was mad at his cousin so he didn't tell his family about the dead cousin. The family were the ones who found out themselves. I don't think I am going to read this book because It's not interesting for me. Also the person who recommended it to me told me that it is ok, not too good.

The Hobbit

I finally finished "The Hobbit" and what happens is they get into war, bilbo and the elves, and it takes hours to win.  Many people died during the war. Then when that was over there was another problem that occurred. There was a dragon that terrorized  the town. Then was happened was that They were trying to kill it for a while already, but it just returned. Then something either exciting or horrible happens. Find out yourself.

There was a character that helped do something important, don't want to spoil it, and his name is Bard the Bowman. As you can tell by his name, he is good with bows. He is very courageous and he is determined. I know this because in the book he says "I am willing to face the beast and slay him into bits". He is very strong and wouldn't give up. That is what Bard the Bow man is like.

The Hobbit

What is going on so far in the book is that there is lots of fights that are appearing. By fights I mean like wars. People are always hating each other for no apparent reason, but thats just them. Something that I just noticed is that this takes place before the book "Lord of the Rings." Bilbo the hobbit keeps on going on the adventure with Gandalf. They have found out many things but I don't want to spoil it thats really all the important events that happen.

Gandalf is very committed to whatever he does. I know this because in the book "The Hobbit" it says "Everything you do will effect the future, which is why I do everything the best that I can." This is pretty much telling us how committed he is. Bilbo also follows that rule because he listens to pretty much everything that he Gandalf says. That is what Gandalf acts like in the book.

"Would we be Killed" Blog

Native american were marginalized in society in many ways. One way Native Americans were being marginalized is by white men taking their culture away. I know this because in the article "Would we be Killed" it says "Pratt believed that the children needed to completely abandon their "indian-ness" in order to succeed in American. "Kill the Indian, Save the man," That was Pratt's saying." This shows that the white people didn't like the Native American's cultures and the way they live, so they decided to completely change their lives. No more of what they use to do or any traditions. Also the phrase "Kill the Indian, Save the man," was bad it's self. That was how the Native American were marginalized.

I think the propose of Shanice Britton's essay is to show how the Indian Culture didn't change and is still around. They wanted to show how they live and have been for a while. Also to show that they aren't living in tepees and stuff like that. They have regular lives, but still do costumes.

The Hobbit

I have started reading the book "The Hobbit " by J.R.R. Tolkien. They book so far is about a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins and he was sitting out in front of his house. A wizard named Gandalf came up to him and asked his Bilbo wanted to come on an adventure. Bilbo ends up saying no, but the next day Gandalf comes back with 13 dwarves and are ready to party. Their purpose was really to persuade him to go on the adventure. He was handed a contract and finally Bilbo agrees to go on the adventure  after they had all left and he ran after Gandalf. He took nothing with him, just a contract in his hand. Thats really the main points so far.

Bilbo seems like he is a courageous guy because some random old man comes to him and asks if he wants to go on an adventure. If it were me I would never do it because you never know. Also he is brave because he is going on an adventure and to me, adventure means there will be dangers and risk. I would never do what Bilbo did because I am not as brave as him. That is what Bilbo acts like and what he is.
