Nearly done

I am still reading about Rosa Parks, but I am very close to finishing it. What I have read so far is mainly what i already know. There were new things also that I read. I never knew that she got arrested in a bus after other important things. I thought that she was just getting the boycotts started. Also that she helped organize lots of boycotts and sit inns. If you don;t know what a sit in was, it is when the African americans went into a restaurant and sat down in the white people section and they wouldn't move. She also got to meet lots of famous people after they ended segregation. The thing that she got the most was respect for what she did. She knew MLK and other people from the NAACP.
In the book she kept coming back to one thing that she talks about in the book. She keeps bringing up when she sat in front of the bus. I think that is so because she thought that she really inspired people to start doing more things like her. She wanted people to start going against the white men but in a non violence way. I think that it was pretty smart of her saying that she wants them to fight in a nonviolent way. I also think she says that because of MLK and other nonviolent leaders. Thats just something that I noticed her constantly bringing up again and again.

Rosa Parks

I am reading a Non-fiction book that is about Rosa Parks. The book is a autobiography so it makes it more interesting for me. She writes a lot about what happened during her life and how things went. She explained that what she went through wasn't easy. She says she was discriminated by all the white people in her town. She was also talking about slavery but I wasn't sure if it was about her because what I know some things about her but not all. Well then she goes on about how her life is during segregation. She writes that you are being pushed around by everyone and you can't go into one public place without having people yell at you. Thats all I have read so far.

She is a very brave person and an Up stander because she stands against segregation. She doesn't want to be pushed around anymore. Also she is strong because no matter what happened, she fights in a non-violence way. She wants to reason with them even though they don't like them. She also has gone through so much and wont give up on what she believes in. She can be an advocate to many people that are going on strikes because she shows that you can do lots without violence.

Academic/Personal goals

An academic goal that I am going to set for 2015 is that I want to improve way more in a couple classes. They are Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Lit Studies. I am going to start some steps that will help me achieve my goal. The first thing that I will do is that I am going to start paying attention to what the teachers have to say instead of ignoring what they say sometimes, that way I know what to do. Then I will keep up to date with all my assignments and not put them aside like I usually do with a lot of my classes. That is what brings me down. Next I shall try hard at every assignment I get so that I can get a higher score than I would to get if I really didn't try. Hard or not, I will try to do the best that I can. Those are the steps I will be taking to get better grades.

A personal goal that I am going to set for 2015 is that I want to be better at soccer. I will start the steps by training harder. I don't try that much because I really don't like the exercised  we do at practice. Next I am going to try new things that would make me better during the game so that I could play longer and be known as the best player in the team.  That will also give me better chances to get into way better teams that go to tournaments in other countries. I am also going to try to train during my own time in my backyard. I will try extremely hard to make my parents proud and to reach my goal.

New Things I Learned about the book Hatchet

I am still reading the book Hatchet and it is really good because Brain has to survive and kill some animals, find resources and stay alive pretty much. He got very lucky that his mom got him a hatchet, otherwise he would have died out there because he would not have anything to protect himself. I thought for sure he would have only lasted awhile and a search party would find him and save his life. Instead it is way better than that because I love that type of genres. It gets people thinking about what is going to happen next. He says that he thinks that something is lurking and watching him and that is something to be afraid of.  Also he is really struggling with what is going on in his life and how he has to be alert of his surroundings. I will leave the rest for you to find out.

While reading I made some predictions and the first one is that I think that Brian will get injured by fighting an animal and before he faints because he is too weak, he is found and taken to a hospital. Which leads to him being saved and lives life normal. The second prediction is that he will just grow up in the jungle, knowing where everything is and he makes a house himself and he doesn't have anything to worry about. He will live like Tarzan.

Begining of the book Hatchet

I have started reading a book named "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen and it is about a 13 year old boy named Brian Robeson and he was on a small air plain and then he remember about his parents divorcing. That was about a month ago and  he is heading towards his dads place over the summer to cut down some trees because his dad is a mechanical engineer for oil drills and whatnot. His mom gave him a hatchet and before he left so that he could cut down some trees. The pilot is telling Brian that he is feeling some pain in his shoulder. The bad thing is that it results into a hert attack as the pain increases. Brain is in shock and goes to find the radio. Right before he could take in the information he was given the radio goes out and the engine dies. The nose of the plane is pointing straight down and there is nothing he could do. He sees a lake in the distance and thinks he has a chance to make. He makes it and swims towards the shore and faints. That is where his adventure begins.

Some thing that is noticed is that he kept bringing up the "Secret", about when his parents divorced. That happened about a month ago and you would think that he is over it but he isn't. Most people that I know that has parents that are divorced got over it in about 2 weeks. On the plane ride he kept that in his mind until of course the pilot had a heart attack. I wonder if later on in the book he will keep on bringing it up.
